QUETTA, July 7: Balochistan Home Minister Sardar Sanaullah Zehri has tendered resignation from his office, sources close to the minister said here on Monday.

Sources said the home minister had submitted his resignation to the Provincial Chief Minister Jam Mir Mohammad Yousuf. However, the chief minister had not accepted his resignation so far and had asked him to continue to work as minister.

Sources said that the representatives of Hazara tribe had demanded resignation of the chief minister and home minister during a meeting with the Balochistan governor on Sunday last.

They had criticized the performance of the provincial government and the police and other law enforcement agencies.
