LAHORE, July 7: The Tanzeem-i-Islami held a demonstration outside the Lahore Press Club here on Monday to protest against moves to recognize Israel.

The demonstrators led by Tanzeem’s patron Dr Israr Ahmad were carrying placards and banners inscribed with slogans rejecting the moves and reminding the nation that the Quad-i-Azam had termed Israel an illegitimate child of the west.

The demonstration was planned to be held at the Chairing Cross on The Mall but under police pressure the organizers changed the venue at the eleventh hour.

Speaking to the demonstrators, Dr Israr said Pakistani rulers were arguing that when Arab states were recognizing Israel, Islamabad should also do so.

But, he said, no real representative government was working in any Arab country rather stooges of the US and its allies were ruling there and they were ready to recognize Israel to appease their masters against the wishes of their people.
