MIRPURKHAS: The district and sessions court of Tharparkar at Mithi on Monday granted interim bail-before-arrest to five Rangers personnel accused of killing a man and wounding his companion by firing on a jeep in Chhachhro taluka on April 7.

Mir Nasir Talpur and Mir Mohammad Ali Talpur were among the five-member hunting team travelling in the jeep. The former succumbed to his wounds two days later while the latter is recovering in a Hyderabad hospital.

The court granted the bail in a sum Rs150,000 each after hearing arguments of the counsel for the Rangers men -- Mohammad Abbas, Karamat Hussain, Mazhar Hussain, Mohammad Khalil and Mohammad Razzaque.

The court fixed April 26 for confirmation of the interim bail.

The Rangers men were booked in the murder case on the court’s order after an applicant submitted that the SHO of the Khensar police station of Chhachhro taluka was not registering the case.
