TTP talks

Published April 18, 2014

AFTER diplomacy comes the trend of appeasement through entertainment. The peace talks with the TTP are more or less entertainment now.

The nation has been once again fooled in the name of peace settlements with those who have not only refused to accept the Constitution but who also have their own interpretation of Islam.

The government is following an appeasement policy which is clearly threatening the future of Pakistan. As a goodwill gesture, TTP prisoners have been released twice and the interior ministry is still interested in releasing more militants.

What will be next? The TTP would be in the strongest position after having much of their prisoners released. There would be no deal then to control them.

The actual threat is not the TTP but the attitude of the government that is supporting and strengthening the former’s power. This nexus between the government and the TTP would make us suffer more in the future.
