HYDERABAD: US Consul General in Karachi Michael Dodman has said that understanding between the Pakistani and American people is improving due to different exchange programmes undertaken by the US government.

He was speaking at the closing ceremony of the ‘Access micro-scholarship programme’ held at a local hotel and later speaking to journalists here on Tuesday.

He said that it was one such programme that had given Pakistani students exposure to the United States and an opportunity to understand its people, besides learning a great deal of the English language and acquiring skills to become community leaders.

He congratulated 100 students from Hyderabad on completion of the two-year programme, which had 100,000 people around the world.

This programme is a part of a larger US initiative under which schools are being built and developed in Sindh, according to him.
