Inzamam declines role as chief selector

LAHORE: After former Test captain and legendary batsman Inzamam-ul-Haq refused to conduct trials of the Lahore Region Cricket Association (LRCA) for the PCB U-19 tournament, another former Test spinner Mohammad Hussain has been named as chief selector by the Lahore association.

According to a LRCA press release, Inzamam has refused to act as chief selector due to other pressing assignments.

And now Saud Ahmed and Iqbal Zahoor will assist Mohammad Hussain in conducting the trials.

The North and West Zone trials are scheduled to be held on April 17 and 18 at the LCCA ground.

On Tuesday, the two-day East Zone trials started at the LCCA ground. Around 150 probables appeared for the trials on the first day. —Sports Reporter
