NAWABSHAH, July 5: Patients visiting the outdoor patient department at the PMCH here on Friday suffered in scorching heat due to boycott of the OPD duties by doctors and paramedical staff in protest against registration of the case of a boy’s death against five doctors.

The doctors of the People’s Medical College Hospital had resorted to the boycott for two hours on the call of the Practitioner Medical Association.

They were protesting against nomination of five PMCH doctors in an FIR lodged by Mohammad Ali Arain whose son died after he underwent an operation at eye ward of the hospital on June 19.

HUNGER STRIKE: The growers of the Jheemal minor, Nusrat division of irrigation department, continued their token hunger strike outside the Nawabshah Press Club here for second consecutive day on Friday to protest against water shortage.

The growers told journalists that their lands were being rendered barren due to non-availability of water.
