HYDERABAD, July 5: The activists of the Peoples Doctors Forum observed a token hunger strike outside the local press club on Saturday.

They were protesting against the inordinate delay in the regularization of the services of the contractual doctors and payment of dues to them.

Speaking at the rally, Dr Akram Ghumman said that different governments had assured that the services of the contractual doctors would be regularised but to no avail. They added that the present government had also given a similar assurance but no notification in this regard had yet been issued.—Bureau Report
