GUJRANWALA: A Mushak trainer aircraft belonging to the Army Aviation crashed near Gujranwala killing both of its occupants on Tuesday.
The two-seater plane crashed due to a technical fault developed during a training mission, according to an Inter Services Public relations (ISPR) statement which added that both the pilots onboard the plane had died in the incident.
The statement further said that an inquiry had been ordered into the incident.
The Mushak aircraft is a small aircraft which is not equipped with ejector seats.

Please make correct report. This is not a jet plane but a piston engine - propeller type aircraft. It's a sad incident but also part of aviation operations. Such small aircraft are not equipped with ejection seats like other fighter jet aircraft because of various reasons. May Allah bless the departed souls and give strength to family to bear this irreplaceable loss.

It is high time that PAF starts to be specific as to what happened to the aircraft instead of giving vague terms like 'technical fault'. Safety record of Mushak does not appear to be that good.:

@mujtaba: Brother we have Jet trainers thats why we have a good basics for pilots who got trained and then fly the supersonics and thats y we stand in world's best air force.
