PBSA official for Bangkok

KARACHI, Dec 15: Secretary, Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA) Aspi Mavalwala, will attend Board of Directors meeting of the Asian Confederation Billiards Sports (ACBS) being held in Bangkok from Dec 21 to 22.

Mavalwala, who is member of the Board of Directors will leave for Thai capital in the wee hours of December 19 to attend the two- day meeting.

The important agenda of the meeting included staging of Asian championship 2002 in China, XIV Asian Games in Pusan (South Korea) being held in September/October 2002.

Talking to the media Saturday the PBSA official said various technical details about hosting of snooker, 9-ball pool and billiards events during the Pusan Asian Games will be discussed and finalized.

He said another important thing of the meeting is inauguration and launching of ACBS Snooker Association for Excellence in Bangkok.

Giving detail about the project, he said association for snooker excellence is being formed to which players, referees and coaches will be invited to attend training and coaching in various areas.

He said affiliated member of ACBS will nominate their players and officials for attending the programmes under it. He said ACBS will provide free boarding and lodging while member countries have to bear air passage for players and official.

The PBSA official said ACBS constitution will be upgraded according to the changing time.—APP
