ISLAMABAD, July 3: The Zarai Taraqiati Bank (ZTBL) will be disbursing production loans to small farmers for Khariff crops under its one window operation throughout the country from July 7.

Small farmers having irrigated land upto 25 acres or Barani upto 50 acres are eligible under this scheme for a maximum loan of Rs60,000.

These production loans are being provided for the purchase of good quality seed, appropriate doze of fertilizer and pesticides and aim at enhancing per acre yield of cotton rice and sugarcane crops.

In order to facilitate the farmers, representatives of post offices, revenue officials and ZTBL’s mobile credit officers will be present at focal points at Tehsil level on every Monday and Tuesday to complete all the formalities and sanction the loan on the spot.

The disbursement of loans for the current Khariff season will start from July 7 and remain operative till August 31, extendible to September 30 in regions/branches where needed.
