DARRA ADAMKHEL, July 3: Wapda chairman Lt-Gen Zulfiqar Ali Khan will inaugurate the power meters’ installation drive in Darra Adamkhel, Frontier Region Kohat, on Friday.

He would also address a tribal jirga at the Government High School in Zarghunkhel here. The Wapda chairman would be accompanied by Pesco chief executive Brig Tahir Saeed Malik and the power utility’s general manager (operations).

Power meters have been installed at all government buildings in the tribal area.

Presently, the electricity meters are being installed at the commercial centres, sources said, adding that so far around 129 meters had been installed at various shops in the Darra bazaar.

Sources said that the meters would also be installed in the weapons manufacturing units in Darra Adamkhel after July 10.

Wapda has also completed an additional feeder for the Darra Adamkhel area at a cost of Rs8.8 million, which has solved the low-voltage and loadshedding problems.—Correspondent
