KARACHI: Just like in the preceding Twenty20 series, Pakistan got off to a winning start in their three-match disabled one-day series when they beat England by 33 runs in the opening game at the ICC Global Academy Ground in Dubai, according to the details made available here on Tuesday.
Skipper Hasnain Alam, who lost his left foot in a mine blast, smashed 95 off 98-balls with 10 boundaries and one six and wicket-keeper Danish Ahmed cracked nine fours in his 39-ball knock of 50 as Pakistan raised 233-9 in their 40 overs.
Hasnain and Danish provided the impetus by sharing a 109-run partnership for the third wicket.
Callum Flynn and Jimmy Williams took two wickets each.
England, in reply, took up the challenge but eventually were restricted to 200-9.
Alex Hammond and Gordon Laidlaw put on 49 for the opening wicket, while 16-year-old Callum Flynn batted smartly to score 69 which included six fours.
Abdullah Afridi, Rao Javed and Ameer Ahmed claimed two wickets apiece.
