KARACHI, July 3: Police conducted a raid in Malir on Wednesaday morning and arrested two activists of a banned sectarian organisation.

Sources in the Crime Investigation Department said that acting on a tipoff, police raided a house in Jafar-i-Tayyar Society in Malir and arrested two persons identified as Ali Waqar Naqvi and Zakir Husain Naqvi, activists of Sipah-i-Mohammad Pakistan. Police recovered three pistols, one rifle, several rounds, a mobile phone and a motorcycle from their possession.

Police said that both were involved in several terrorist acts in the country. Sources said that the two had recently come from Lahore. They have been shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation.
