SARGODHA: Wapda-B and PIA have won their matches on the fourth day of the first Brigadier Manzoor Hussain Atif Memorial hockey tournament at the Sargodha Hockey Stadium on Wednesday.

Wapda-B beat Railways 2-0 while PIA defeated Punjab 6-2.

Wapda-B drew the first blood in the 16th minute when Suleman scored a field goal.

The slim lead of 1-0 remained in order till the half-time. Waseem doubled the lead for the winning side in the 60th minute.

Star studded PIA squeezed past Punjab.

From PIA, Ammad Shakeel (seventh minute), Ahsanullah (19th min), Afsar Yaqoob (24th min), Muzamal Bhatti (30th min), Nohaiz Malik (34th min) and Amir Shahzad (63rd min) were the scorers.

Zubair Riaz scored in the 40th minute for Punjab and Hafiz Aamir netted the ball in the 62nd minute.

Thursday’s fixtures: NBP v Police 11am; Army v Railways 1pm; Navy v Wapda-A 3pm.
