LAHORE: The Punjab government on Saturday appointed four boards of intermediate and secondary education (BISE) chairmen and three controllers of examinations.

According to the Punjab government spokesman, Dr Muhammad Zareef has been appointed as Rawalpindi BISE chairman; Muhammad Aslam Gujranwala; Ghulam Muhammad Faisalabad; and Dr Anwaar Ahmad as Sahiwal board chairman.

The government also appointed Dr Zafar Iqbal as controller of examinations at the Faisalabad BISE; Syed Tahir Jaffry at Sahiwal; and Liaquat Ali at Sargodha BISE.

It may be mentioned that the post of chairman of Bahawalpur BISE has been lying vacant for the past four months.

Multan BISE Chairman Chaudhry Rasheed, who is also holding additional charge of Bahawalpur BISE, will be retiring on attaining the age of superannuation on March 9 leaving posts of chairmen of both boards vacant.
