KARACHI, June 29: Thousands of people visited on Sunday the stalls at the ‘All About Lifestyles Exhibition’ organized by the Dawn Group of Newspapers in the Karachi Expo Centre. This made the three-day event a well-attended one.

According to the organizers, altogether more than 100,000 people attended the exhibition, which ended on Sunday, during the three days.

The stalls which drew much attention belonged to information technology and education sectors whereas those showcasing electronic goods and appliances were also teeming with interested people. The bookstall on the mezzanine floor of one of the exhibition halls lured a fairly large number of people in the last two days.

On Sunday evening, the queues of men and women had become more than 500 metres long each.

Prominent among those who visited the exhibition were at least one provincial minister, a large number of senior government officials, and high officials of foreign missions, including those of the Consulate of Germany.

Quite a good number of people were seen placing their orders at the stalls. Almost all the goods displayed at the exhibition were offered on concessional rates which enhanced the sales figures.

The traffic police department had set up a stall in which youths took keen interest. Arrangements were made to issue learners’ licences at the stall. Many people availed the opportunity. According to the DIG Traffic, Yameen Khan, at least 800 licences were issued during the event.

The Pakistan Army and Pakistan Air Force had also set up shops. At least four charitable organizations too made their presence felt.

Hundreds of children had flocked to the big stall set up exclusively for them. Puppet shows, quiz shows, skits and other activities were the salient features of the exciting events held there regularly for the visiting children during the exhibition.
