NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, June 28: Inquiry against district food controller and other officials of the department initiated on Thursday to probe allegations of corruption against them.

Mazhar Khaskheli, Qasim Isran and Malook Janvri of the Sindh Hari committee had sent telegrams to Sindh Chief Minister Ali Mohammad Mahar and other high-ups that district food officials had misappropriated lacs of rupees.

The committee leaders had complained that wheat procured at the permanent food godown at Naushahro Feroze was shown as purchased from temporary centre, Abran.

A source said about 45000 wheat bags were shown purchased at the temporary centre as against actual purchase of 10,000 bags at the centre.

The source said a target of 745000 bags was not achieved as only 545000 bags were procured so far.

As many as 16000 bags were shown purchased at the permanent godown Naushahro Feroze, 10000 bags (Noorpur), 9000 bags (Moro), 8500 bags (Padidan), whereas 40000 to 50000 bags were shown purchased at the temporary centres.
