SIALKOT, June 25: sdo (Gepco Sub-Division No 3) Karim Bux Soomro conducted raids at various places in Daska and caught 16 landlords stealing electricity.

The accused were identified as Ajmal (Dhadu Basra), Tariq Mehmood, Abdul Salam (Mundeyki Goraya), Tariq, Azam, Asghar Ali, Chiraghdin (Wataliyan), Abdul Shakoor (Begaywali), Hanif, Saleem (Dhadarkey), Nasardin (Noorpur), Allah Ditta (Werowala) and Rafiq (Raam Rayian). They were collectively fined Rs131,000.

death sentence: Five people were sentenced to death and fined heavily by local courts in three separate murder cases here on Wednesday.

Additional District & Sessions Judge Tariq Mehmood Malik awarded death sentence with a fine of Rs100,000 each to Abdul Qadoos, Abdul Qayyum and Sakhawat for killing real brothers Aurangzeb and Abdul Latif at Udowar in Motra, Daska tehsil, over a land dispute on Oct 23, 1995.

Additional District & Sessions Judge Sarwar Sindhu awarded death sentence with a fine of Rs50,000 for killing Asghar at Naikapura in Sialkot city, on June 6, 2000.

Additional District & Sessions Judge Nazir Ahmad awarded death sentence with a fine of Rs100,000 to Amjad Ali for killing Fazeelat Bibi on resistance in a dacoity bid at Hundal in Sialkot Saddar on May 14, 2002.
