THIS refers to the message received on my cellular network on Jan 7 which stated that 10 paisas plus tax on each call will be deducted with effect from Jan 7 to improve the service.

For the last 14 years I have been using connection of my current cellular network but have not found any improvement in service. It is observed with great concern that the cellular network has already expensive call rates as compared to other networks.

If you recharge card of Rs100, you get Rs75 as credit because Rs25 is deducted as tax. If you call from your mobile, every call will be taxable.

I think Pakistan is the only country which charges different and multiple tax from customers whereas other countries give tax rebate and other incentives to their customers.

In Pakistan, there are no checks on cellular networks. I would request the chairman of the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority to look into the matter and take strict action against cellular networks violating the PTA law.
