Two bandits killed in encounter

SUKKUR, June 23: Two bandits, one of them wanted in 30 cases, were killed in an encounter with police near the Sukkur bus terminus on Monday.

DPO Sukkur Ghulam Shabbir Shaikh identified them as Fiju Sangrani and Abdul Jabbar.

Speaking at a press conference at the Abad police station he said the encounter took place when Fiju and Abdul Jabbar were looting the Khan Shell Fuel Station at the terminus. As a result of which both the dacoits, Fiju and Abdul Jabbar, died on the spot. Other members of the gang managed to flee in a nearby river forest.

The DPO said Fiju was wearing police uniform and an official rifle was also recovered from him.

BODY FOUND: The body of a kidnapped landlord, Raja Shar, was found near railway track in the jurisdiction of the Sultankot police of Shikarpur district on Monday.

The relatives of the deceased informed the police that his friends — More and Gulsher Shar — were involved in his kidnapping.

Later he was shot dead.
