SHIKARPUR: Armed men said to be members of the Mangnejo clan broke into a house and shot dead a man sleeping in the drawing room in Rab Dino Mangnejo village near Madeji town on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Mushtaque Ahmed Kalhoro.

Police said that the murder was latest in a series of attacks and counter-attacks between Mangnejos and Kalhoros started after a man belonging to one clan and a woman belonging to the other, were accused of having illicit relations.

They said that over a dozen people from the two sides had been killed and many others wounded in the dispute between the two clans.

In another incident, armed robbers opened fire during their attempt to snatch a motorcycle from Asadullah Korejo and his pillion rider Saeed Soomro on Dadwai Road on Tuesday.

One of the bullets hit a man, Arbelo, son of Allah Dino, who died on the spot.

Stuart Ganj police have registered a case.
