DERA GHAZI KHAN, Dec 14: The teaching staff of three schools of tehsil Taunsa Sharif have been without salary for the last three months.

The staff of Girls High School, Mithay Wali; Girls High School, Kotani; and Girls High School, Nutkani; could not get their salary owing to alleged confusion of drawing and dispensing powers among authorities concerned.

Sources said the aggrieved staff of these schools had approached the DPI to seek his help, but he asked them to contact the district coordination officer.

The district officer (education) also sent an official letter to a Lahore based DPI for dispensing DDO powers to sanction the staff salary. But the confusion still persists among the education district authorities.

It is pertinent to mention that the district accounts office can pay the salary because it is dispensing salary to all departments despite the confusion regarding DDO powers.

An account office of the DG Khan is creating hurdles for teachers for the low-paid staff are unable to pay commission.
