BD leave for Australia

Published June 23, 2003

DHAKA, June 22: Bangladesh on Sunday left on a tough tour of Australia, hoping some individual efforts would help redeem prestige after their pathetic display in the international arena.

They are scheduled to play two Tests and three one-dayers against world champions.

“I am not looking for a great team effort but hoping to see improved individual performances,” said Dav Whatmore.

Whatmore said it was not possible to obtain results overnight but felt the team had worked hard in preparation.

“So we are leaving with a happy mind.”—AFP
