New envoy to Mauritius appointed

ISLAMABAD, June 22: Syed Hassan Javed has been appointed Pakistani High Commissioner to the Republic of Mauritius.

Mr Javed was born on December 9, 1955, and holds a Master’s degree in Economics.

He joined Foreign Service of Pakistan in 1979 and held various diplomatic assignments in Pakistani missions abroad: Beijing (1982-87), Harare (1991-93), Dushanbe (1994-96) and Brussels (1996-99).

Mr Javed also served at Headquarters as section officer (1987-88), director (1989-91 and 1999-2000) and director-general (2000-01).—APP
