ISLAMABAD, June 22: The Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) here on Sunday launched an MSc Chemistry programme.

Chief guest Prof Dr G.A. Miana, pro-chancellor of the Riphah International University, Islamabad, said the AIOU had been hiring quality teachers for imparting standard education to its students.

He said the charter of the AIOU allowed it not only to collaborate with the public sector but also with the private sector universities. Therefore, he suggested that the AIOU should start the programme from other cities besides Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

AIOU vice-chancellor Prof Altaf Hussain said the AIOU was a second-chance university for those who could not continue their studies in formal system of education because of whatsoever reasons.
