Corps commanders satisfied over operational preparedness

RAWALPINDI: The corps commanders met at General Headquarter in Rawalpindi on Thursday, expressing satisfaction over the military’s operational preparedness to deal with any probable threat, DawnNews reported.

The commanders met under the leadership of Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif and discussed the country's security situation.

During the meeting, the commanders were briefed on the internal and external threats facing the country.

The commanders also expressed their satisfaction over the recent meeting of the DGMOs of India and Pakistan during which the two sides pledged to uphold the 2003 Line of Control (LoC) ceasefire accord which had been left in tatters by repeated violations this year.

General Sharif, the country's new army chief, had also visited the troops deployed in forward locations along the LoC soon after assuming the command on Nov 29.

The general has already visited North and South Waziristan, the northwestern regions labelled by the US as areas from which terror attacks are launched inside Afghanistan.

I have a great faith in our great Armed Forces who gave more lives than any politicals leaders in this corrupt nation. Don't be a Yes man and you have to stand Mr.Mushraff as he was a honest leader and for because he loved Pakistan otherwise lives is Great Overseas. I lived out of Pakistan for 40 years and never encounter any trouble. Godd luck to great Generals and soldiers of Pakistan.

Hope they sleep easy at night in their heavily defended luxury residential areas. Average Pakistani sure isn't as lucky as he dodges criminals, terrorists and Pajeros.

The chief of the army is the most senoir member of the army and also serves as the principal advisor to the Prime minister.He may seek consul from other commanders regarding planning, resources and the policy matters. I am very satisfied with the new no-nonsesnse army chief's performance that he took the time to visit varoius sectors/forward positions and talked to local commanders to asceratin their needs and realities on the ground. I hope and pray that he fulfills his duties and aspirations of the country which provides most of its resources to the armed forces and stays clear of internal politics. Pakisan is facing many challenges as army posts are being attacked daily by crminals who want to destablize Pakistan but I am sure that our armed forces will meet these challenges head on and come out as best army in the region. The peolple of Pakistan will never forget your sacrices.May God bless Pakisatn and its armed forces.

@ghazala: Since you lived outside the country for 40 years, evidently you don't know how the poor people lived under dictatorship. The military officers are trained to protect the country from otside agression and not overthrow the elected leaders. In Pakistan's history, Military has been running the country for most part of its existence. Do you see anything like this where you live or anywhere in the world.
