ISLAMABAD, June 21: Six people were killed and eight others injured in a wagon-trailer collision on Soan Road in Rawalpindi late Saturday night, police and hospital sources told Dawn.

The accident occurred at about 12:30am when a passenger wagon (ID-8256) coming from Lahore hit a trailer. The trailer, according to police, took a sudden turn due to which the wagon driver lost control and ploughed into the trailer resulting in the death of six persons.

The bodies were recovered from the wreckage of the wagon and shifted to two hospitals with the injured. Three of the bodies were shifted to the Rawalpindi District headquarters hospital and three to the Fauji Foundation Hospital. —Reporter
