Bus driver booked

Published June 22, 2003

FAISALABAD, June 21: Nishatabad police have registered a case against a bus driver who crushed to death a minor boy on Faisalabad-Sheikhupura Road.

The case was registered on the application of Nasir Mehmood Khan, uncle of the deceased boy.

The killing of Muhammad Junaid had provoked the students of the National College of Textile Engineering (NCTE) who blocked traffic, pelted stones and smashed window panes of two buses.

It may be mentioned that a case had already been registered against two dozen NCTE students, including Mubashir, Saleem, Kashif and others, on the application of Shafqat Mehmood, Traffic Incharge of the Minthar Bus Service. However, no arrest has so far been made in this respect. — Correspondent
