ATTOCK: Police on Tuesday foiled an attempt to smuggle narcotics and arms from KP to Punjab and arrested the truck driver at Attock-Khurd check post.

The district police headquarters stated that acting on a tip off, the police placed a barrier at the check post which is the entry point into Punjab from KP.

A police team later intercepted a truck loaded with marble chips.

Upon detailed checking, the police personnel recovered 180kg Hashish, 48kg opium, two Kalashnikov rifles, four 12-bore guns, five 30-bore pistols and 1,500 bullets from the vehicle.

The driver was later identified as a resident of Charsadda district. Attock Khurd police have registered case against the accused.
