ABBOTTABAD, June 19: The Karakoram Highway was opened for traffic after 28 hours on Thursday morning after the district administration and two provincial ministers assured the protesters of arrest of the man who had shot dead a doctor on Wednesday and suspension of police and Ayub Medical Complex officials.

The doctors did not attended the out-patient department and no operation was conducted except the emergency cases.

After a meeting, the doctors, professors, paramedics and students set a deadline of 48 hours for the arrest of Sardar Moazam advocate, the alleged killer of Doctor Farooq.

They held the hospital administration responsible for failing to protect the doctors.
