KARACHI: Mysterious death

Published June 19, 2003

KARACHI, June 18: A house-maid died in controversial circumstances in North Nazimabad on Wednesday.

Quoting the statement of inmates, police said that Lal Mai, 25, was cleaning a room on the first floor of the house of Mr Usman, a cloth trader. As she started to dust off the bedsheet, a loaded pistol lying beneath the pillow fell on the ground and went off. The bullet hit her in the chest and she died on the spot. Her body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
