KASUR, June 14: Six family members sustained wounds on Saturday when nine men fired on them over a petty issue in Maratian village, Ilahabad.

Police said Muhammad Akbar had forbidden Bashir Ahmad and another man not to dance in front of his house. They also exchanged harsh words over the issue, but the matter was settled with the help of neighbours. Later, Bashir along with his eight accomplices came to Akbar’s house and opened indiscriminate fire on the inmates and escaped. Akbar, his father Pathana, sons Hanif, Hashmat Ali, Akbar Ali and cousin Riasat Ali sustained wounds. They were taken to the local health centre from where Akbar, Riasat and Hashmat were shifted to Lahore General Hospital in critical condition.
