KARACHI, June 14: Sindh chief minister’s adviser on home affairs Aftab Shaikh on Saturday visited the headquarters of the Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) and was given a detailed briefing about its working.

Sindh chief secretary Dr Muttawakkal Kazi also accompanied the adviser. The DG Rangers Maj-Gen Salahuddin and his deputy Brig Mohammed Masood were also present.

Later talking to newsmen, the adviser expressed full satisfaction on the ranger’s performance and said that the Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) was a highly functional organization which, besides fulfilling its professional responsibilities, was rendering duties entrusted to it by the federal and provincial governments.

He said it can be stated with pride that the rangers were playing a vigorous role for improving the law and order situation in Karachi and arrest of terrorists by them and recovery of a large number of arms from them is a testimony to the same.

He said before this visit, he himself was unaware of many a responsibilities of the Rangers which the Force was performing with efficiency.

About security being provided by the rangers to different organizations in Karachi, Aftab Shaikh described the ranger’s performance highly satisfactory and said it was for this reason that all the national and foreign organizations here impress upon having the services of rangers and one could very well judge the trust reposed in the rangers.

On the occasion, the DG Rangers (Sindh) informed the newsmen that the force performs its duties as a sacred national cause and no discrimination is made in this regard.—APP
