PPP worker shot dead

NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, June 13: A PPP worker, Basharat Ali Chandio, 35, was killed in the Nangar Chandio village on Friday.

He was headed towards home from Mithiani when a bullet hit him on the forehead killing him on the spot.

It is believed that he was killed by an NPP activist as both PPP and NPP activists have been having a dispute ever since the last general elections.

The on-going dispute between PPP and NPP workers of the Chandio tribe was also raised in the Provincial Assembly a few days back.

Basharat’s body was handed over to his relatives after post-mortem.

No case had been registered till the filing of this report.

DEMO: The growers of Khan Wahan Minor held a protest demonstration on Friday against the SDO, irrigation, Kandiaro, for not providing them water in the minor.

The protest march started from the Shahi Bazaar and terminated at the Khan Wahan Press Club.

Talking to newsmen, the growers said that the SDO, irrigation, Kandiaro, was not providing water to the Khan Wahan Minor as a result of which their lands had been rendered barren.
