Senator resigns from committee

ISLAMABAD, June 11: Senator Justice Abdul Razzaq Taheem on Wednesday tendered his resignation from the special committee formed to investigate into Senator Saadia Abbasi’s house attack.

He informed the Senate about his intention on a point of order during the budget debate.

Later, the Senator told Dawn that he had resigned because despite the constitution of the committee no proceedings had yet been started. However, he said that he had been informed that his resignation had not been accepted by the Senate chairman.
