PESHAWAR, June 10: A former executive engineer of communication and works department, Zaffar Baig Bettani was sentenced to seven years of rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of Rs115 million by the Accountability Court here on Tuesday.
The accused was found guilty of possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, the presiding officer of the court said.
He was charged under section 9 of the National Accountability Bureau Ordinance, 1999 and was convicted under section 10 of the ordinance.
