Farhan slams superb century

KARACHI, June 9: Farhan Rafiq hammered an undefeated 101 to steer Zone-II Whites to a crushing 184-run victory over Zone-III Greens in the KCCA Inter-zonal under-15 cricket tournament here on Sunday.

Farhan struck 12 boundaries in what was the tournament’s first century as Zone-II Whites accumulated a total of 242 for six in their allotted 50 overs at Asifabad Sports Ground.

Arsalan Fazal also excelled as he hit four fours in contributing 49.

Zone-III Greens, in reply, were bundled out for just 58 in 20.3 overs with only Sufyan Qayyum (16) and Zaheer Hussain (14) reaching double figures.

Slow left-armer Azmi Lodhi claimed three wickets as did medium-pacer Saad Aslam with Azmi conceding 10 runs and Saad 18.

Meanwhile, Zone-III Whites defeated Zone-IV Blues by 80 runs at TMC Ground.

Abrar-ul-Haq stroked five fours on his way to 63 that helped Zone-III Whites score 208 in 48.5 overs.

Slow left-armer Jahanzeb Lodhi then snapped up four for 32 and Talha Khan three for 31 as Zone-IV Blues mustered 128 in 39.1 overs. Masroor Ali top-scored with 35.
