ISLAMABAD: The government has appointed Barrister Akram Sheikh as special prosecutor in the Musharraf treason case.

Talking to DawnNews, Barrister Sheikh said that he accepted the role of special prosecutor to uphold the constitution and strengthen democratic forces.

A notification regarding the approval will be issued by the law ministry.

Meanwhile, the Sindh High Court on Saturday adjourned the hearing of a plea seeking removal of former president General (retd) Pervez Musharaf’s name from the Exit Control List (ECL) till November 26.

In his plea, Musharraf submitted that his bail was accepted in cases and hence his name must be removed from the ECL.

In his response, the deputy attorney general submitted that he has concerns and will submit a para-wise reply.
