MANSEHRA, June 8: A couple was killed and six other people injured in a head-on collision between a coaster and a Suzuki pick-up on the Karakoram Highway near Ghazikot township on Sunday.

The passenger coach (LPT-1937) coming from Rawalpindi rammed into the pick-up (MA-5442) while overtaking a bus.

Afsar Jan, resident of Khokhar Maira, Havelian, died on the spot while her husband Aurangzeb succumbed to his injuries at the district headquarters hospital here. Their son Junaid was injured.

The other injured were: Rehman, son of Abdul Qayyum; Ayub and Mohammad Jan, sons of Ameer Khan; Abdul Hamid, son of Abdul Hameed; and Saifur Rehman, son of Khalilur Rehman, of Batagram.

The injured were taken to the Ayub Hospital Complex in Abbottabad.
