KARACHI, June 8: As many as 111 vehicles including 44 cars and 67 motorcycles, were either hijacked or stolen by the bandits during the last one week.

The last Monday was the luckiest day for bandits, who took away 23 vehicles on that single day. A total of 29 cars were taken away and 15 others were stolen in different localities, including Jauharabad, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Samnabad, Baloch Colony, Gizri and Shah Faisal.

As many as 27 motorcycles were taken away on gunpoint and 40 others were stolen in various areas of Samnabad, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Korangi, Buffer Zone, Clifton, Kharadar, SITE, Liaquatabad and New Karachi.

Police claimed the recovery of 34 stolen cars and 32 motorcycles in the week. However, the police did not disclose about the number of recovered vehicles, which had been handed over to their lawful owners.
