The eternal heroine

Published November 17, 2013

Trust these Pakistani actresses! They simply refuse to accept the fact that there will be a time — if it hasn’t arrived already — that they will be over the hill.

Take for example the woman with a velvet tongue, Resham. Her recent claim that she can play the part of the ‘heroine’ in films for many years to come has taken quite a few by surprise. Of course, she was reacting to some of her colleagues’ assumption that Resham dear shouldn’t play the leading lady anymore. But the petite actress snubbed them, saying it’s a case of sour grapes (you can conjure your own fruit image) and she can carry films on her shoulders.

So this means Resham is in her not-too-late 20s or oh-so-early 30s. Not an inch more, not an inch less.
