PESHAWAR, June 6: NWFP Senior Minister Sirajul Haq has said the government has doubled funds allocation for environmental protection this year.

Speaking at the launching ceremony of a book “Conservation and Islam” here on Friday, he hoped the book would help readers understand the significance of environment in the light of Islamic teachings.

The minister asked people to follow teachings of Islam and pattern their lives after Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him).

The 67-page book has been co-authored by Dr Qibla Ayaz of the Shaikh Zaid Islamic Centre, University of Peshawar, Dr Mirajul Islam of the same department, Wildlife Conservator Dr Mohammad Mumtaz Malik, and Bahadur Nawab of Environmental Protection Department, University of Peshawar.
