KARACHI, June 5: At least three leaders of the Pakistan Railway Inqilabi Workers Union were arrested and later released by the police when they made attempts to take out a rally at the Railway DS Office.

Manzoor Razi, Mohammad Arif and Sattar were taken into custody before they could enter the City Railway Station.

The railway workers were planning to hold a demonstration against the privatization of railway schools and hospitals and restoration of benefits for the employees.

However, the detained leaders were released in the evening by the police.
