KARACHI, June 5: Five ships carrying fertilizer, general cargo and containers are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where a total tonnage further rose to 98,101 tons comprising 38,261 tons of export cargo including 23,650 tons of liquid one and import tonnage totalled 59,749 tons.

Berthing activity at the wharves was modest as four ships were berthed. They are: Hyundai Highway, Selecta, to unload and load containers and general cargo, Warbah to offload highspeed diesel and Storm Lady to load naphtha.

Two ships, APL Emerald and Frontier Express departed, while Vladimir Vysotskiy, Orient Stride, Selecta, Storm Lady and Warbah are due to sail out on Friday.

The following ships are due on Friday: Bunga Masempat, Wan Hai-305, Kota Tegap, with containers, Beluga, with general cargo and Islamabad, with 16,800 tons of fertilizer.
