TOBA TEK SINGH, June 3:An Anti-Corruption court rejected on Tuesday the bail application of the former SHO of Pirmahal police.
Malik Aslam was arrested about 20 days ago on the order of district police officer for accepting Rs80,000 bribe for the release of Inayat Husain in a Zina case.
PROTEST: A large number of employees of the PTCL took out a protest procession here on Tuesday to protest against an Urdu daily of Lahore for publishing ‘baseless news’ about local divisional engineer Muhammad Akram.
They marched on various roads and also went to the offices of the DCO and DPO. They also set on fire copies of the newspaper. Meanwhile, hawker Abu Bakar alleged in an application lodged with the police that he was tortured by the DE and his staff when he was selling newspaper outside the main city telephone exchange.
