‘Killer’ of six cops arrested

BAHAWALPUR, Dec 12: An alleged killer of an SHO and five constables has been arrested in Lahore, it is learnt.

Sajjad Bhinder alias Sajoo of Yazman was the brother of Bajoo Bhindar who had been killed in a police encounter in Sargodha about two years ago.

Masquerading as a doctor, Sajjad was staying in a Lahore hotel from where the police arrested him. Hearing the news about his arrest, a Bahawalpur police party has been sent to bring him from Lahore.

After the death of his brother, Sajjad committed a number of murders and dacoities. He was wanted by Bahawalpur, Yazman and Head Rajkan police in various cases of dacoity, murder and other heinous crime.

LOOTED: Two armed men, Gul Muhammad and Allah Yar, on Wednesday allegedly looted Ghulam Jahania and took away from him cash and valuables worth thousands of rupees in Mauza Rangpur near Musafir Khana, some 15 kilometres from here.

Police have registered a case.

TAKEN AWAY: Thieves on Wednesday took away two cars (BR-9811 and SLJ-9977) of Naib Nazim Chaudhry Akhtar Ali, UC-67/DB, and pesticide officer Mahmood Ahmed from outside their houses in Model Town C Block and Boby Plaza on the Circular Road, respectively.

In another incident, thieves allegedly took away a motorcycle owned by Imran from outside his house in Uch Sharif.

Police have registered separate cases.

KILLED: One person, Ilahi Bukhsh, was killed and four others including, Akbar and Allah Ditta, sustained serious injuries on Tuesday when a boiling water tank blew up in Ashraf Sugar Mills.

The injured were admitted to the Bahawalpur Victoria Hospital.
