KARACHI, June 1: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has finalized details to enhance the fee of cricketers in Test and One-Day Internationals (ODIs) by 25% and award them additional bonus for Test match wins, PCB Chief Tauqir Zia said on Sunday.

According to the new fee structure, even new players will be getting around Rs 50,000 from the previous Rs 28,000 and players like captain Rashid Latif can collect nearly Rs 200,000 from his previous Rs 158,000.

He said Pakistan skipper Rashid Latif recently met him and requested him for equal match fee for both senior and junior players.

The PCB chief, said had he accepted Rashid’s proposal even new player like Umar Gul and captain himself got an equal amount which was not justified.

However, he said they will continue with previous slab system and the senior players having played more matches will get more and junior player according to their appearance in the test and ODIs.

He said besides the pay raise, the players will be getting extra 25% for every Test match win.

General Tauqir said PCB does not want to deprive players monetarily and wanted to give them their due rights.—APP
