ISLAMABAD, June 1: The Cantonment General Hospital (CGH) authorities have sought Rs13 million grant to enhance facilities besides appointment of more staff in the hospital.

The hospital caters to the needs of the people living in the cantonment and its suburbs, but lack of proper facilities and staff is causing problems for the residents coming for treatment.

Sources said that the hospital needed Rs2 million for maintenance of the building, Rs9 million to overcome the shortage of medicines, Rs1 million for purchase of machinery and another Rs1 million for the purchase of a fully equipped ambulance.

They said the hospital was facing shortage of medical and paramedical staff. About seven posts of doctors, 14 posts of nurses, four posts of medical house officers and 20 posts of other staff were lying vacant in the hospital, which should be fulfilled immediately.
