THATTA, Sept 28: A sessions court on Saturday dismissed the pre-arrest bail application of the wife of a slain social worker for her alleged involvement in his murder. Additional Sessions Judge (Thatta) Qazi Fareed Anwer did not confirm Sindhu Memon’s interim bail in the murder case of Rafique Jalbani, son of senior journalist Abbas Jalbani, and sent her to prison.

Rafique Jalbani was shot dead on July 26 outside his rented house at Makli. Police had arrested Khurram Lakho in Karachi and seized a pistol and live cartridges from him.

Police were also in search of Ms Memon after they came to know that she had exchanged SMS with suspect Lakho. On Sept 18, she got pre-arrest interim bail till Sept 28.

Earlier, Advocate Rasool Bux Samoon had filed suspect Lakho’s bail application but the court rejected the plea.
